Amy is a seasoned compliance professional with a strong legal foundation and a decade of experience in the financial services industry in South Africa. Holding an LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand and registered with the FSCA, she began her career in 2015 at Masthead [Pty] Ltd, where she spent nearly nine years supporting a wide range of financial services providers through external compliance oversight.

Her expertise spans both traditional regulatory frameworks—including FAIS, FICA, PPRs, and AML requirements—as well as emerging areas such as crypto assets, Shariah compliance in alternative investments, and international research into regulatory regimes like the Mauritius Financial Services Commission. Amy is also a member of the Compliance Institute of South Africa [CISA].

In her current role as Head of Compliance, Amy now drives the internal compliance function at Verum Capital [Pty] Ltd, leveraging her extensive background in external compliance to embed a proactive, business-aligned compliance culture across the organisation. Her transition from external consulting to an internal leadership role has enabled her to work more closely with business units, align compliance strategy with commercial objectives, and provide hands-on guidance in navigating both regulatory obligations and operational realities.

Known for her passion for training and development, Amy has played a key role in mentoring future compliance officers and has led initiatives in compliance training, regulatory updates, and executive-level reporting. She brings strategic insight to stakeholder engagement and corporate compliance planning, underpinned by a deep understanding of both retail and institutional financial services environments.

Outside of work, Amy finds balance in reading, swimming, and expressing her love for music through singing and playing piano.
