Timo’s area of expertise have been developed over 30 years with solid experience in managing diverse financial and wealth management solutions, as well as providing bespoke investment advice for his clients on behalf of world renowned Swiss banks.

Before relocating to South Africa in 2018, Timo dedicated 3 decades of his life working for Swiss banks, during which time he held various international, senior private banking positions in Germany, the USA, The Bahamas, Singapore, Indonesia, UK as well as in South Africa. In 2008, he was hired by Bank Julius Bär in Zurich as a Senior Private Banker. By virtue of his long term experience and expertise in the private banking industry, he was soon promoted to the rank of Managing Director and Senior Advisor, whilst appointed as the Global Market Head for Africa concurrently. Here his focus lay primarily on South Africa, being the key market and focus of business development, which led to his subsequent appointment as a member of the regional executive committee.

His long standing affiliations and day-to-day engagements with his South African clients and passion for the region soon led to his appointment as a principal stakeholder in establishing Bank Julius Bär’s first Sub Saharan Africa footprint in South Africa. This entailed realising a fully licensed advisory office in Johannesburg. In 2018, Timo sought permanent residency in South Africa and partnered with Caleo Capital (Pty) Ltd. He has consequently founded Verum Capital, an authorised financial services provider which specialises in providing external asset management services to High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWI), local Financial Service Providers (FSP) and their Independent Financial Advisors (IFA).

Recreationally, Timo has had a lifelong passion for mountain biking, as well as participating in key cycling events such as the Cape Epic. Today he enjoys the South African lifestyle and spends his free time with his partner and their two dogs.
